Membership: Full member is a Sámi who approves the purpose of the association. Support member have to approve the purpose of the association. Community member have to approve the purpose of the association.

Purpose: The purpose of the association is also to safeguard the right of the Sámi to maintain, develop and promote their own culture, and to support and promote the Sámi cultural, linguistic, social, legal general economic efforts to co-operate across national borders. In addition, the purpose of the association is to promote and revitalization of the Sámi language, Sámi culture and Sámi traditions.
